What is agentic business intelligence?

At Persona One, we use agentic business intelligence to describe a loop: connect business context, identify something worth investigating, explain the evidence, and propose an action. The goal is to help a team move from understanding a situation to doing something useful about it.

  1. Start with a business question

An overdue payment is a fact. What your team should do about it depends on the surrounding context. Has there been a recent conversation? Is a meeting already planned? Which account does the payment belong to? A useful system helps bring the available evidence into the decision, rather than treating one signal as a complete explanation.

  2. Connect the records before drawing conclusions

Business context is spread across tools. Persona’s current workflows bring together supported payment, calendar, email, deal and contact records. Their usefulness depends on what is connected and available. Missing activity is not proof that nothing happened, and a missed date does not establish why work stalled. Source records give the reviewer a way to check the suggestion.

  3. Give insight a practical next step

Reporting, question answering and workflow automation can all contribute to this process. The emphasis in Persona’s approach is the connection between them: what happened, what evidence explains the concern, and what internal action would help? Current agent actions can create notes and follow up tasks. A suggestion is a proposal to review, not a promise that the underlying business issue is resolved.

  4. Treat control as part of the workflow

A useful action needs a clear scope. Persona asks for approval by default. Owners can allow selected action types to run automatically within daily limits, and agents can be paused. Completed actions leave receipts. Undo depends on the record remaining unchanged and recovery checks passing. These controls make it possible to inspect the work after execution as well as before it.

  5. Separate the direction from what is available today

Beyond Now Into Agentic Intelligence expresses Persona One’s direction. The current product grounds that direction in specific workflows involving business records, insights, internal notes and follow up tasks. It does not mean that agents independently run every department or contact customers. Supported connections and actions should be confirmed for each workflow.

  6. Evaluate one complete loop

Choose a recurring business question and walk through it from evidence to outcome. Can you inspect the records? Does the proposed action fit the situation? Is approval clear? Can you tell what was actually completed? Those questions offer a practical way to evaluate an agentic workflow before expanding its responsibilities.
